More Apple Butter

Alright, so let’s review.  You get your apples.  You slice, core, and cook them in a big cauldron or pot until they look like chunky applesauce.

Then you put them through a food mill

until they look like actual smooth applesauce.

Then you let it sit in the fridge for a bit, about three days or so, and then, comes the part of starting to make it into apple butter.

You add white sugar, brown sugar, and apple cider into a big bowl with the apple sauce.

And then you stir it all together

And then, you put the mixture into a crockpot/slow cooker and let it go overnight!

More updates tomorrow when it’s cooked all night!  Yummmmmm!!!

  1. looks crazy – what do you eat it with?

  2. It’s used like a condiment for sandwiches. much like you would use any type of preserves. I’m planning on sending you a jar via E for the holidays!

  3. haha that is so sweet thank you :-) I will be looking forward to it!

  4. That is, of course, if it can make it through biosecurity and customs…. hadn’t thought of that possibility. eek!
