Oceans Apart

There was a mine explosion in New Zealand the other day.  Almost 30 men are trapped in the mine, it is unknown if they are alive or dead, or just hanging on.

being an american, you hear about mine explosions and accidents from time to time,so you get used to it.  It’s a sad thing to say, but you get used to it.  This one, this one is bothering me.

I know I know, they’re miners, they knew the risks.  It’s a dirty business and it has to stop.  Clean Energy for the world and future.

yes, I know.  But that’s big picture.  Right now, I’m looking more, medium picture.  Those miners have families that depend on and love them.  And in a strange personal sense, that’s going to be my new home.  New Zealand.  Aoteroa (i have no idea if I spelled that correctly).  Land of the Long White Clouds.

So I guess I feel a bit more of a personal attachment to this one, than I did to Chile.

My thoughts, my prayers, and my well wishes go out to those affected by this.  and I hope it all works out in the end.
